Y’all know how much I love mason jars, and these projects are adorable.

Cedar River Knits

I stumbled onto these images yesterday and found them to be a sheer visual delight!  Apparently this is not a new idea, but it was new to me.  I’ll definitely be copying this brilliant mason jar makeover project!

Click the links below each photo for further tips and inspiration.  I”ll soon be making a trip to the local hardware store to see what lovely possibilities they have in the spray paint aisle!

Mutual Weirdness Forever

I found this sign on Style Me Pretty, and it made me laugh. Isn’t it perfect? I need to show this to my best friend, who’s getting married in November. It would definitely suit her and her fiance. She has asked me to be one of her bridesmaids and she’s letting us pick out our own dresses. I need to see her soon so she can give me color samples from her color palette so I can really start looking for a dress. In the meantime, I’ve done a little looking around and fallen in love with this dress from Alfred Sung. She mentioned that there was a red and a green in her color palette, so I’ve been eyeing the Sangria and Ivy colors of this dress. I really like the Ivy best because I have red hair and have to be careful about wearing red, but it really just depends on which shades of red and green are in her color palette.

There is an inner beauty about a woman who believes in herself, who knows she is capable of anything that she puts her mind to. There is a beauty in the strength and determination of a woman who follows her own path, who isn’t thrown off by obstacles along the way. There is a beauty about a woman whose confidence comes from experiences; who knows she can fall, pick herself up, and move on.

Beautiful Every Time-Lee Brice

I’ve been around the ocean since I was a kid.
I don’t get to see it much these days.
This morning I went down to it just to say I did,
And damn if it didn’t take my breath away.
I guess some things are just that way.

Like a baby sleeping, a mama kneeling,
A Key West sunset sky.
Yeah, the chills I get when you lay your lips on mine.
That’s beautiful, beautiful every time.

I could hear the music drifting over the dunes.
It sounded like a wedding on the beach.
I figured I’d take a closer look, had nothing better to do.
Guess I’d forgot the sight a blushing bride could be.
I guess amazing is always amazing.

Like a baby sleeping, a mama kneeling,
A Key West sunset sky.
Yeah, the chills I get when you lay your lips on mine.
That’s beautiful, beautiful every time.

I guess amazing will always be amazing,
Like a church choir singing, a nation healing,
A soldier coming home alive.
The love for me, girl, I see in your eyes.
That’s beautiful, beautiful every time.
Oh, every time.

Craft I want to Try

From Somerset Life magazine:

“Dress up a plain kraft-colored Moleskine with a swipe of white acrylic paint, a stamped word, and a strip of ribbon.”

I want to do this because I love notebooks, and this seems like an easy way to be creative. I’m always interested in craft ideas that don’t require much skill.

Today I bought several different kinds of ribbon, so I’m going to try this soon.

Laurie Halse Anderson reading her poem, “Listen”

Laurie Halse Anderson wrote this poem about the response she’s gotten from readers about her novel, Speak. She read it on the tenth anniversary of the release of her novel. The poem is mainly composed of fragments from letters sent to Ms. Anderson. This poem is extremely powerful and made me weep the first time I heard it.
