About Me

Hi, and thanks for stopping by my blog. I’m Ashley, and I’m 23. I am many things: a student, a writer, a dreamer, a friend, an artist, a daughter, a feminist, a pacifist, a mac & cheese aficionado, a nerd, a cat lover, a redhead, a bibliophile, and a lover of beautiful things. When I started this blog, it was my outlet for the things that inspire me, my place to write about books and share music and photographs and other inspiring, pretty things. Although it still is all of those things, I have also begun posting recipes I want to make and cleaning and organizational tips I’ve been finding. One day, it’s possible that I will be a domestic diva, but for now, that, as in every other aspect of my life, is a work in progress.

I am a feminist who enjoys traditionally feminine pursuits. I love sundresses and pearls, I find cooking relaxing, and now that I’ve bought a cute polka-dotted apron, I don’t even have such an aversion to cleaning anymore. I have been slowly redecorating and reorganizing my room, and I have been amassing recipes to try, in addition to my schoolwork and my favorite hobby, which has always been reading.

I recently rediscovered a love of art and have begun an art journal. It has been a very rewarding experience. It provides me with a way to try new art techniques and a way to work through emotions. I also put quotes, lyrics, recipes and lists in my journal, making it sort of an ‘anything goes’ book. I love incorporating acrylic paint, scrapbooking supplies, and images from magazines into my journal. I find magazines published by somerset/stampington particularly inspiring.

I post fairly often, once or twice a day, including weekends. I love hearing from readers and checking out others’ blogs. Feel free to leave me a note in the comments. In the meantime, pull up a chair and have a glass of sweet tea with me.
